Steve Yeager held his bronco to a Spanish trot. Somewhere in front of him among the brown hill swells that rose and fell like waves of the sea lay Los Robles and breakfast.
Reaines should ahve been ashamed of himself. It makes me doubt that he was ever east of New York. This slow, but enjoyable light novel has been spoiled by this reference to "the automatic revolver". Sid the man not know anything about guns?? Even a school child would know that an "automatic" is a million miles distant from a "revolver", which by its very name has a REVOLVING cylinder. and is NOT automatic in any way, needing to be cocked and fired, for each shot.

so they sent a telegram to Pasquale about Threwit, who should not have been there under any circumstances, and received back what was basically threatening letter. Under normal circumstances, and with normal people moderately intelligent, they should immediately have replied that they had sent Pasquale's letter directly to the the United States Government, from whom no doubt Pasquale would be hearing . But in Raines' world such a simple, direct answer is not to be thought of. I would ruin his stupid story which is already incapable of being more ruined than it already is.
I wonder who the "critics" are who award "stars". They certainly DON'T know their business. They are worse than Raines...if that's possible....which i doubt.
