I am on holyday and I am reading one of the most beloved books once more. I am pretty old and have a master degree in literature. I recommend this book to crimlovers; it is a mixture of Agathe Christie "closed room mystery"/ modern life complexity of singlemother and daughters/violence in close relationship/cold war spionage a la Le Carre/ Swedish democrtic society in general and spesifically rights of free speech and writing. I am Norwegian and the last counts for Scandinavia on the whole. At last: The books are a hundred times better then the films!

Mikael Blomkvist, crusading publisher of the magazine Millennium, has decided to run a story that will expose an extensive sex trafficking operation. On the eve of its publication, the two reporters responsible for the article are murdered, and the fingerprints found on the murder weapon belong to his friend, the troubled genius hacker Lisbeth Salander. Blomkvist, convinced of Salander’s innocence, plunges into an investigation. Meanwhile, Salander herself is drawn into a murderous game of cat and mouse, which forces her to face her dark past.
